Another Great Season for Potomac Tennis Women’s Teams
After last season’s ceremonial outcome for the clubs top team, the Red “A” team found itself competing against the very best this league has to offer. Though finishing with a respectable 2-5 record, several other matches were anxiously close and could have turned the season a different direction. Nice job to all of you for competing so very well at such a high level.
Next came the Red “B” team which dominated it’s competition and completed a perfect 7-0 season, capping it off with a 4-1 play-off win. They now move to the Blue “A” division, allowing the club to field two “A” teams for the first time in its history. The Blue “B” team, attempting to overcome several early season injuries, battled it’s way to a 3-4 record. With a little more luck on our side, the three 2-3 losses could have turn the entire season around. Likewise, the Blue “C” team, a perennial play-off contender, found themselves on the wrong side of lady luck finishing the season with a 4-3 record. With the fall season not too far away, high expectations will once again be the norm.
Demonstrating hard work and commitment, the women’s players of Potomac Tennis really put it together this year. We look forward to a strong spring season so if you are interested in joining us please do!
Womens’ Fall Tennis Teams Forming soon
With this year being a standout season for women’s team tennis at PTFC, we are looking forward to the 2011 fall season. Teams are now forming and any PTFC member interested in playing ladies team tennis should contact John McDaniel. The 2011 fall season teams include Red A, Blue A, Blue B as well as Blue C. The women’s tennis fall schedule will be available for review soon.
PTFC Senior Team Finishes Well
The clubs senior team very recently finished their season with a winning record. With the first half of the bi-yearly competition coming to a close, a 6-1-1 record was posted leaving them second in the gold division. Should they continue this trend, I have no doubt that PTFC will be holding the trophy at the end of the season.
Men’s 4.0-4.5 Interclub Team finishes Third
The men’s 4.0-4.5 clay court team, lead by captain Adam Chafetz, finished their 2011season recently with a 5-2 record and a third place finish. Congratulations gentlemen for another fine season.
